Technical situation today

It is well known fact, that humanist occupations are very lucrative today. Since school a lot of young people suppose this profession to be very attractive. With such an point of view they are educated in their families, go to school, to a institute and finally they begin rearing their own children that way. Deadlock.
Why is it so? What do make people think that manual operations have lost their popularity?
There are several motives.
First of all present machinery achieved such a high extent of progress that society is capable of using it without having special technological knowledge. So there is no necessity for further spreading of engineering skill. Humanits use starts prevailing in all fields of life.
second it is an well known fact that we exist in the consumer society. People in it don’t want to work with their hands. They like to depict everything and use things, but not to produce something by themselves. Of course this phenomenon does not influence positively on spreading of technological education. People are simply not interested in it.
Thirdly the resource base has reached such a extent of desolation that we frequently have no place for work after learning the theory.
after all a very important thing is the policy of the state. What professions does it suppose as called-for today? We can easily get to know it by researching our mass-media. The internet, the television, the radio, the press – what images do they promote now? It is easy to prove that they are full of non-technical images. Mass-media display us pleasant, nice life in which there is no place for hard-work, but there are a lot of talks, beautiful scenes and fantasies.
What do we have as a after all?
Lack of competent workers in the technical sphere. There are a lot of philosophers, lawyers, artists, singers, politicians, professors but a few people, able to operate for example a expensive jointer planer. This will cause a perilous situation when we will be lacking very simple things which are very important for our comfortable way of living.
Besides that our education system is totally ruined. There is no technical literature of high quality – it is either sold or lost. There is no qualified teachers able to educate worthy personnel working in technical spheres.
Such is the picture. Sad, isn’t it?
Then, there is an adequate question: what should our state do in order to improve the condition? It seems to me that there are several actions to be taken. First of all our education system should change its attitude towards technical professions and specialities and theirs perspectives. education system should apply efforts in order to promote technical specialities in mass-media.
And of course, the best way to preserve technological specialities is to assign enough means both for the payment for the people who work in this sphere and to the creating an adequate resource base.
